You can do so much for your custom home design, starting with floor plans!

Ameri-Star Homes is a new home building company based in Glen Burnie, Maryland, that serves central Maryland with customizable home construction. We build on new communities, individual land lots, and on your own land. Ameri-Star Homes allows you to build using any of our 40+ customizable floor plans, which means you can choose between open, broken, and closed floor plans. Which would work best for you?

Open Floor Plans

Open floor plans can make small and large floor plans look vast. Just removing a few walls and arranging rooms sensibly can make even the smallest spaces feel incredibly open and spacious. An open floor plan also allows, as many know, for larger parties in and around the kitchen and better supervision of family members from the kitchen.

Broken Floor Plans

A broken floor plan helps to give back some of the zone definition and privacy that an open floor plan lacks. Broken floor plans are achieved with sunken or raised rooms, rooms with half walls or floor-to-ceiling, see-through bookshelves, columns, and more. Done right, a broken floor plan can look very artful.

Closed Floor Plans

Closed floor plans are considered old-fashioned today. All the rooms in the house can be fully closed off with doors, which is great for privacy, but not as great for people who might prefer the openness of modern homes. Closed kitchens are valuable to some for containing pungent cooking smells and oil splashes.

Adjustable Floor Plans

Floor plans don’t have to be static. Folding double doors, pocket doors, and heavy curtains on a track can turn any open space into a private room. You could be even more unique with beaded curtains for doorways, saloon doors, or Dutch doors. It is your home, after all!

Planning Your Custom Home

Homes can feature a mixture of any of the above-mentioned types of floor plans at any part of the house. What matters most, however, is what models are tried and true for functionality and what your must-haves are. Ameri-Star Homes is happy to work with you in Glen Burnie, MD, and the rest of central Maryland to achieve a home design that meets your satisfaction 100%.
