Over the past few weeks, however, lumber has seen an up to  40% drop in futures, the largest monthly drop on record, and it hopefully will continue to drop. There could be multiple causes for this massive spike and drop, including inflation, supply and demand, and shortages. The price of lumber is still above what it once was, but the lowering price is certainly a good sign for home builders.
