Spring cleaning can be fun; here’s how to make your routine something to look forward to!

No matter how long you have had your new construction home, spring cleaning will be very welcome. All homes get dusty and dirty, and setting time aside for thorough house cleaning at least once a year will keep it an enjoyable place to be. If you are reading this post, you likely are one of the many who struggle to get through the chores. Follow these tips to make spring cleaning fun!

Keep Yourself Organized

It’s a lot more tiresome to get something done if you are disorganized. Where do you even start? What cleaning tools do you have or not have? It helps to make a spring cleaning checklist. You can organize it by task, such as dusting and vacuuming, or by room. 

Set a Timer

Setting a timer can help you stay on track and focus on the task at hand without distractions. If you set perhaps fifteen minutes at a minimum, you can get as much done as possible within that time and take a break. Consistency is key.

Set up a Reward System

You can also make a game of it and see how much you can do within a given time. If you finish on time–or finish at all–you can reward yourself with any given treat you want, whether that be food, entertainment, or the chance to buy something new.

Listen While You Work

Listening to music, a podcast, or an audiobook can be the best way to make the time fly by while doing manual work. Reward yourself by playing your favorite songs, audiobooks, influencers, etc., only when you tackle this year’s spring cleaning.

Involve the Family or Invite a Friend

Having company can also make the time pass quicker. Involve your family or invite a friend or two to chill or help you out. Have some snacks and drinks on the side, some breaks, and time together. If you have children, you can make spring cleaning fun by turning it into a game.

Spring cleaning isn’t work just for work’s sake; it’s a way to keep your home happy and healthy. You will feel much better about your home every time.
